Practicing Handwriting Through Alphabet Blocks
Today, people have forgotten one important use for the Tradition baby toy, the Alphabet blocks. And that imperative use I am referring to is handwriting. The completely obvious way the Alphabet block get used is teach each ketter to the baby and may be using each Alphabet block to spell out words without verballing spelling such words to the baby. And if your set of Alphabet block comes with numerals and operation symbols, math is taught. But handwriting isn't thought of the teach our babies the first steps to handwriting.
However, in one point of out history of teaching babies, infants and toddlers, we did teach them handwriting using Alphabet Blocks. Infact, handwriting was one of the purpose of the Alphabet blcoks, not just for learning each Alphabet letter.
Upon learning about the sevral uses of the Alphabet Blocks, I decided to use the Alpahbet blocks we received from my father in law several years ago as a present. Our one year old is extremely interested in wrinting he started picking up a pen, pencil and marker and scribbling horizontal lines, zig zags and actually written a lowercase c without any instructions from me. But he has witness and observe his older siblings and mother picking up various instruments and writing on paper. I know that this isn't a milestone that most one year olds have. Writing and scribbling with correct pencil holding in not do until 3 years old resepctively.
